6 Simple Traditions To Start With Your Family This Fall

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. It's like November 1st hits and our to-do list instantly quadruples!

However, Family traditions are a good way to bring you back to center. They give you the opportunity to put your to-do list down and be intentional with the time you have at home with your family.

Here are 6 simple traditions you can start with your family this fall.

Have everyone write down 1 thing they are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving Day! On Thanksgiving you can pass around the board and let everyone read what they have been thankful for so far this month.

To make your own thankfulness board, all you need is a picture frame (at least an 11x14) and some fabric or pretty wrapping paper! Simply cut the fabric or wrapping paper to the size that fits your fame and place it in the frame! Now all you need are some dry erase markers and you're all set!

(This is super cute hanging on the bottom part of the fridge. Just hang the frame using a 3M command hook/strip.)

Let your kids send thank you notes to their teachers and other people in their lives they are thankful for. I know this sounds simple, but a handwritten thank you card can have a huge impact on someone's day!

This is a really fun Thanksgiving Day tradition! (Especially after the wine has been served!) Record each member of the family stating the date and the top 3 things that happened this year that they are thankful for, and the 1 person they would like to give a special thank you message to!

Let the kids deliver a yummy treat to their teacher or your neighbors. This one doesn't even have to require extra time in the kitchen! All you need is a box of cookies from your grocery store bakery and individual treat bags. Add some ribbon along with a cute tag and you're done!

Here are a few more super simple treat bag ideas for you!

*Caramel apple treat bags.

*Trail mix.

*No bake cookies (Who doesn't love a no bake cookie?)

*Caramel popcorn.

Autumn is the perfect time to get everyone out of the house and into the fresh air!

Simply get outside and enjoy the fall colors with your family! Enjoy some of that quality time that is so fleeting in our lives. You can even make a big batch of hot chocolate for everyone to take with them on the walk! Sometimes the simplest traditions are the best traditions!

This is a super fun one! Bring everyone's favorite campfire activity right into your dinning room! all you need is a Sterno S'mores Heat Fuel Can and all the S'more fixins! (You could also use your stovetop) Here are a couple of creative S'more ideas for you.

Hopefully this has inspired you to start a new tradition with your family this year.

I would love to hear some of your own family traditions. Do you have certain traditions you did as a kid that you have passed down to your kids? I would love to hear from you in the comments below.

As always, feel free to share if you found this helpful at all. :)
